The Anthony Reilly Memorial Cup - Calderbank AFC
Added On:6/5/2008

Calderbank FC from the Airdrie and Coatbridge league are holding an invitational cup on the 28th of June. Its a 1 day charity tournie involving 4 teams with plenty going on at the side of the park for kids and families. We have also booked a local hall for afterwards where there will be a buffet, bar and live entertainment. Tickets for this are £5 with all proceeds going to Airdrie Hospice.

The hall holds about 140 people so each team will be allocated around 25 tickets to sell. Then the rest will be for sponsers, locals and anyone else interested in coming along. We are looking to book 2 acts, a band and either a hypnotist or comedian.

I can now confirm that all the rumours about the celebrity referee for the tournie are TRUE. The ref will be none other than Graeme Robertson!!!!! Calderbank will supply the specs and mobility chair!!!!

The 4 teams taking part in this years Tournament have been confirmed.
The entrants are Calderbank, Albion Thistle, Bargeddie and Thorn United

Each team have won their respective leagues so there should be some very good ties on the day.

The cup has been renamed The Anthony Reilly Memorial Cup after Anthony, 17, died in a tragic car accident last week. He will be sadly missed by all from Calderbank and hopefully this will go some way to showing our respects to the family.
