Hi McILWRICK
Totally agree with your comments in relation to the referee. Both sides robbed on numerous occasions by shocking decision making. Cannot recall the ref making the correct call on any of the games big descisions.
Thanks for your previous comments about Auchinleck Utd. Everyone will be saying "thats the bubble burst" after yesterdays result. By thinking that way they are being very disrespectful to Mossblown, who indeed played us hard and got the reward their effort deserved. Continue like that and it wont be long before you start pusshing up the league.

was down watching two games today, got the 1st half of the gartlea v shawhead, that was looking one sided at 4 -1 to gartlea at half time, so drove up to morven st for the lochgreen v gantry game, got there just at the beginning of the 2nd half, was 1-1... gantry only had 10 players available to them, and to make it worse, the ref was having a shocker and seemed to give every decision against gantry, then sent off a player for absolutely nothing, even lochgreen players couldnt believe what the referee was doing, but in the end after between 6-8mins injury time gantry ran out 4-3 winners, but the referee in my opinion should be having a look at himself in the mirror, one of the gantry officials went to ask the ref about the sending off and the ref just plainly ignored him and marched on by, dunno who the referee was, but i am sure people who watched the game will agree he had a stinker this afternoon

lol , i've a shin injury , probably wont play for another 3 weeks unfortunately

well that was an eventful match , cpa went 1 goal up and 1 man down in the first half , thistle fought back making it 2 - 1 at half time , in the second half cpa were reduced to 9 men when Larky received a second yellow for dissent , cpa battled and were under heavy pressure , thistle making chance after chance without capitalising and when cpa equalized it looked like they might hold out for the draw , but the shortage of men on the park cost them as thistle threw everything at them for the last 10 mins and the final scoreline ended 5 - 2 to thistle ( fourways )

entertaining match and would no doubt have been much closer had it not been for the dismissals in either half

s.abbott - I heard you were not too happy with the ref, to put it mildly. Don't hold your breath waiting for the Supervisor's report - you'll never know what's in it. Ae I see we've got you in the Ayrshire next week - so one of us is going to the Donsport.

now go wash your mooth oot - who is getting paid???? Surely not. Would that no be against the rules? I canny believe any Ayrshire club would go down THAT road. But if you know different.............!!

I've heard the Mauchline thing was pretty much a storm in a teacup. According to a guy at the match it was all a bit of a mystery to him....he couldna understand why the game was called off. What he actually said was the abuse being chucked at the ref was "about normal". Suppose it depends how you define "normal"

DeanT - Troon did come a cropper at Catrine but where do i start.........

We were missing 7 players through various injuries and other things which is not a good start and did miss a few chances late in the game but...

This is no way a dig at our ref's but we were the victims of some of the "strangest" refereeing decisions i have ever seen.

The best bit was in the penalty shoot out when our keeper pulled off a great save and their player turned away to walk back having made no complaints to be told to take the kick again as ref was of the opinion that the keeper moved off the line!!!!
I believe there was a supervisor there for the ref so it would be interesting to see what his report said.

We do have some good officials in the leagues but things like this make you wonder why you bother turning up on a Saturday. I don't get paid to play (unlike some ) and do it for enjoyment. The ref makes good money out of us playing and you would hope they understand what effect their decisions have on our Saturday nights!

Good luck to Catrine in the next round and see you Saturday DeanT.

Anyone know what happened at Mauchline?

We are still playing some nice stuff and making chances just maybe tend to go a bit all out and leave ourself wide open at the back. when we get players back from injury and folk stop going to weddings then we will come good.
Dunipace looked a good side forwards were lively,
couple of idiots at the side of the park let there side down tho with stupid shouts so much so the ref warned them twice before telling the manaement to get rid of them. fair play to the ref and the to management for telling the idiot to do one! that was them away from home must be fun at home games lol

Article from Scotland on Sunday

Playing fields a national disgracejavascript: ShowThumb(4);"> Published Date: 07 September 2008 (Scotland on Sunday )By Eddie Barnes and Fiona Gray THREE-QUARTERS of Scotland's playing fields are in an "unacceptable" condition, according to the leading charity which cares for the country's green spaces.Fields in Trust – formerly the National Playing Fields Association – is to apply for Lottery cash to protect and improve 214 fields across the country, on the back of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games bid.It says the cash is needed to turn around the "intolerable" state of many of public playing fields, most of which lack proper drainage or decent facilities. The group's findings are crucial evidence in support of Scotland on Sunday's campaign, "Fair Deal for Glasgow", which is demanding a substantial injection of Lottery cash to be awarded to Scotland as a legacy for the 2014 Games.Scottish ministers claim the country's overall Lottery pot has been slashed by £150m because of the billions being spent on the London 2012 Olympics. Funding for Glasgow's Commonwealth Games is already in place from the public purse, but politicians from across the spectrum are backing a special Lottery-funded pot to ensure a legacy. Fields in Trust has submitted a document to the Scottish Government in which it lays out how that legacy fund should be spent. The most recent audit of Scottish playing fields, carried out in 2006, found that 74% of natural grass pitches, 61% of synthetic grass pitches and 50% of tennis courts require replacement or significant upgrading.Sportscotland will release a report this week showing there have been significant improvements since, with many of the unpopular red 'blaze' pitches phased out. But Fields in Trust says that far more needs to be done.Colin Rennie, manager of Fields in Trust Scotland, said: "Our concern is that three out of every four pitches is not fit for purpose. That is an intolerable figure for a nation hosting the Commonwealth Games. We want to protect and improve 214 playing fields by 2014 as a legacy for those games. "There have been some improvements in the last two years, but in terms of the big picture, there hasn't been a fraction of the required investment which we need." The 2006 audit – published by Sportscotland – found that many public pitches had inadequate drainage, which led to frequent cancellation of matches. Maintenance was often "inadequate", even on new facilities. Changing facilities were often in "very poor condition", with half requiring replacement or significant upgrading. Only in private clubs, or in schools which had recently been rebuilt, was the picture more promising.Friends in Trust says that, with Lottery funding, it would help to upgrade pitches, parks and sports areas. It also suggests building and improving children's play areas, creating walking paths and more seated areas in communal areas. Its document to the Government declares: "These 214 protected and improved playing fields will provide a tangible, practical, accessible and well-loved legacy for everyone throughout Scotland."The extra Lottery funding would help to build further on improvements already underway, says Fields in Trust. Sportscotland will release a report this week showing that there was a net loss of just one playing field in Scotland in the first quarter of 2008, compared with a peak of 28 playing fields lost in 1998 and 25 in 2000. The report will also say dozens of unpopular mineral pitches have been replaced with grass or synthetic fields.Glasgow, Edinburgh and North Lanarkshire have had the greatest increase in the number of synthetic pitches, with 60 artificial surfaces built in the past decade. Falkirk, Stirling and West Lothian have seen the most pitches disappear – 22 – without being replaced in the same period.A spokesman for Sportscotland, which is consulted on any planning application to build on playing fields, said: "Across Scotland we are seeing improved playing fields delivering greatly enhanced usability and playability and we are very encouraged that in the last 15 months proposals for 36 new synthetic grass pitches have been approved

AMack we are a 3rd division team who although never claiming to be anywhere near the best have just knocked out a team 4 divisions above us, so let us at least enjoy the moment (we haven't had much to cheer about over the last 5years) and if we can get a bit of consistency we can maybe get ourselves back up towards the higher leagues.

Cs15

Common sense ... referees, you taking the proverbial ?? Think you are correct about the offsides but I also think Scotty has to alter his starting position if a ref is giving the offside against him. No doubt about it he has the speed to give most defenders a start and still beat them. Think of this, ball getting played from your half, ref watching who kicks it, turns round to assess who (if anyone) is offside. This will take about half a second. In the recent olympics 100 yds in 10 secs, that's 10 yds in a second or 5 yds in half a second. Now I'm not saying he is that quick but there is a strong argument that a gap of at least a yard will open up in half a second. To continue, the shout was "it's when the ball is played" ... correct, but I'm facing the other way to see who is kicking the ball. I have no alternative but to use up this half second to turn round (quick as I am ...) and Scotty is a yard offside. Back to my original comment, alter his starting position.

macca - you're a bit too sensitive. I don't think anybody was gettin at the Tiber. What I was saying was that amack wasn't being very fair to Dirrans.

but you're entitled to be fanatical - I'm just surprised you've got that way so quickly. i thought it might have taken a wee bit more than three weeks!! The Tiber are a great club for sure and everybody recognises that but to say we are all desparate to prove the tiber boys wrong (whatever the hell thats supposed to mean) is well, pure bullshit. but if you want to put yourself on such a high lofty pedestal, you shouldn't be too surprised if we have a wee smile on the odd occasion when you fall flat on your faces. an before you remind me, I'm no forgettin what you did to Dean.

Wilson i agree with your descision bout the penalty/goal great refereeing if you had sent the boy off and gave us a penalty which we missed it would hav been why not let the goal stand! i stuck up for you on that 1 to the dissapointment of my team mates. The 2 yellows no questions 2 silly booking by fallins best player by a mile. The last 1 i thought it showed common sense although i think the guy should hav walked for raising his hands and having a kick with 2 mins to go who wants the extra paper work eh? The game was done and if anything would only hav turned last few minutes into a kicking match. Ill stick up for you wilson i thought you had a good game given the amount of offsides you gave against our striker just watch him for 5 mins his pace is frightening and out the 10 you gave against him he was probs onside for at least 5.

No problem ... the advantage at the handball is obvious in my opinion (you may have missed the penalty). With regards the other incident you will describe what you saw from 50 yds away at a different angle from me and as someone who is biased because you play for one side. Put yourself in my boots at my angle to the incident and who is trying to manage a game (within the Laws) by showing a slight degree of leniency to someone who could have went off the rails early in the game if he hadn't taken on board my 'advice' to him. The more I think of it ask Bobby jnr or wee J who has benefited from my 'advice' for a number of seasons now

Thought that whole episode was handbags with two minutes of a game left. I personally didn't find it a dirty or difficult game. The players spoken to during the game (from both sides) seemed to heed the warnings given and got on with it. Fallin already had one off for two bookings, one other booked and Condorrat had a comfortable lead (and no bookings) ... I decided that the course of action I took was appropriate and within my interpretation of the Laws of the Game. Interestingly, I read something tonight from the Central boys where a ref is getting it in the neck for two sendings off in what they describe as not a dirty game ... we can't win eh !Very good win for Club today I thought.

Tuck's, honestly mate, I'm not one for critiscising them cos they've got a difficult job and I'm not going to go into this referee's performance in any detail. We'd rather look at our own performance and today it wasn't what it should have been for one reason or another. In any league in the country, never mind ours, the good ones are the ones who have a bit of banter with the players, a quiet word in their ear at the right time goes a long way to how the game will pan out in my mind, and you can tell from their face if there enjoying the game or not. A referee should enjoy the match as well as the players. Not sour grapes Tucks. Steins played some nice stuff at times and deserved their victory.-----Gav Torrance

Cs15Happy to explain any decision. No need for a pm. Have to say I thought Condorrat Club benefited from my decisions today more than Fallin. A good example was your second goal, a sideways pass that bounces of an opponent right into the path of two Club players who if it had been a forward pass were miles offside. I agree though Fallin kept plugging away and are not that far off getting things right. With a rub of the green they will come good.Wilson

Bob jnr should have known that as he was a part-time referee. Passed the exam did two games and could not handle the banter and went back to playing football (well being on the pitch). As you say you got the advantage of the goal. Great advantage by Wilson then!
